The M-CaReM-AI Method: Defining Work for AI / Unit 4 MCM 092 worked example, 60 to 90 seconds
Drawing the Map
The idea
The method turns the inventory into a Material Context Map in four steps, using a whiteboard, sticky notes or a simple drawing tool.
In practice
Step one: draw the zones as large boxes. Step two: place each thing in its primary zone. Step three: draw arrows between things, each labelled with a short verb, such as a Complaint becomes a Case, a Case produces a Determination Letter, and a Case logs into the Case Audit Log. Step four: highlight the three to seven core things. When drawing arrows, focus on what creates or derives what, on containment, such as a Case having many Tasks, and on the links that matter for audit.
Where people slip
The method warns against drawing every relationship. A map with too many arrows hides the ones that matter.
