Using the site

Watch anything here, as much as you like, without an account and without paying. Take the quizzes, the mid exams, and the finals as often as the rules on each allow, also without paying. Link to it freely. Use it in a class, a study group, or a tutoring session.

What you may not do

Do not re-upload the videos as your own, sell access to them, or scrape the catalog to build a competing product. The entries, the scripts, the prerequisite graph, the exam questions, and the videos are original work and remain the property of their author. Licensing exists for exactly this — see For institutions.

Do not copy or publish the final-exam questions, and do not try to obtain them or their answers other than by taking the exam.

Final exams

A final exam is a fresh draw of questions each attempt, timed, and scored on StudyWalks' server. Attempts are unlimited, with a wait between them stated on the exam page. Take it yourself, without help from another person; the certificate states that you passed it.

The score is reported on a 20–80 scale on which 50 passes. That scale is a designed approximation, not a statistically equated score, and it may be recalibrated as attempt data accumulates. A certificate always records the scale version it was scored under, and a later recalibration never changes a certificate already issued.

Certificates

Passing a final unlocks the option to buy a certificate for that attempt. The price is shown before you pay. It is the only paid item on StudyWalks.

A certificate is a StudyWalks certificate of completion. It is not college credit, not a CLEP, DSST, ACT or NCCT score, and not a license or professional credential. Whether a school or employer accepts it is their decision.

You receive the certificate at once: a page you can download as a PDF, and a public verify page. Save the PDF or bookmark the page; StudyWalks does not email the link. Coming back to the final exam page in the same browser shows it again, and if it is lost, write from the email address you paid with and it will be looked up for you.

The name on the certificate is the name you enter at checkout, so enter it as you want it to appear. A typo can be corrected on request.

No refunds

All certificate sales are final. A certificate is issued the moment payment succeeds, and the purchase is not refundable. Before you pay, you have already passed the exam and seen your score, and you can see exactly what the certificate shows.

If you are charged twice for the same certificate, or charged without a certificate being issued, write to the address below and the mistaken charge will be returned. A misspelled name is corrected on request at no charge.

StudyWalks may withdraw a certificate obtained in breach of these terms, for example by having someone else take the exam, without refund. A withdrawn certificate's verify page stops confirming it.

Accuracy, and its limits

Every entry is drafted against two independent sources and checked before it ships, and the process is described in full on the method page. Exam questions are checked against the entries they cite. That is a high standard, not a guarantee. Errors happen. When one is found it is corrected against the sources and logged. If an entry or a question is wrong, say so.

StudyWalks does not promise that studying here, or passing a StudyWalks final, will produce any particular result on a CLEP, DSST, or other exam, and it is not a substitute for a taught course.

Not professional advice

Nothing here is medical, legal, or financial advice. Entries naming a health condition define the term and point you to someone qualified. They do not tell you to assess, treat, or diagnose anyone, including yourself.

No affiliation

StudyWalks is a private site. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any government agency, the College Board, DSST, ACT, Inc., Prometric, the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), or any other testing body. Exam names are used only to describe what a subject covers. StudyWalks college finals are modeled on the CLEP or DSST exam blueprint in scope and rigor. Scores are StudyWalks scores, not CLEP, DSST or ACT scores, and are not affiliated with or recognized by the College Board or Prometric. Each final's own page states what it is modeled on. Tech in Surgery Prep's final is a StudyWalks readiness check: it is not an NCCT score, uses no NCCT items, and does not establish eligibility for any certification exam.

Changes

If these terms change materially, the change will be described here rather than quietly substituted. A purchase is governed by the terms in place when it was made.
