On accessibility
Stated precisely, because this is the kind of claim that gets audited. Every entry's full spoken text appears on its page, so the content is readable without playing the video. The site itself is built to the U.S. Web Design System and its contrast, focus, and landmark rules.
On captions. The videos carry no caption track, by design rather than by omission. Each entry's narration and its on-screen text are generated from the same source string, in lock-step, and the full text also appears on the page beside the player. WCAG 1.2.2 exempts a media alternative for text that is clearly labeled as such, and every entry page carries that label. Captions would restate, in a third place, what the viewer is already reading — which is worse for a deaf or hard-of-hearing viewer, not better.
No claim of WCAG or Section 508 conformance is made until an independent review has been done. Ask, and you will be told exactly what has been tested and what has not.
Why a paper trail matters
Content bought for credit-bearing or corrections use has to survive a review. This catalog was built so the review is possible: which sources, which claim, which decision, and when. That record is the product as much as the video is.
