SWStudyWalks Search

Privacy

What this site collects, what it does not, and who else receives anything.

No account, no tracking of you personally

StudyWalks has no sign-up, no login, and no user accounts. Nothing you watch, search, or practise is tied to a name, an email address, or a profile. Search runs entirely in your browser; the query is never sent to a server.

The one exception is a certificate you choose to buy. That is the only time StudyWalks asks for your name or an email address, and the section on certificates below says exactly what is kept.

What is stored on your device

Beyond your browser's normal caching, the site keeps a few small items in your browser's local storage. They stay on your device and are never sent anywhere except where noted.

  • Your place in a subject and the lessons you have watched, so the subject page can show your progress.
  • Your best quiz and mid-exam scores, shown on the Test yourself page.
  • Your answers during a final exam, so an attempt survives a closed tab. They are cleared when you submit.
  • The number of your latest final attempt, so the final exam page can show your result, and your certificate link if you bought one, when you come back.
  • A random exam token, a string of letters and numbers created in your browser. It is sent with each final-exam request so the server knows which attempts are yours and can apply the 24-hour wait between attempts. It contains nothing about you.

There are no first-party analytics cookies. Clearing your browser's site data removes all of the above.

Final exams

Unit quizzes and the mid exam are scored entirely in your browser; nothing is sent. A final exam is scored on StudyWalks' server. For each attempt the server keeps the exam token, the questions drawn, your answers, the time, and the score. These records are used to score the attempt, enforce the wait between attempts, and later recalibrate the scoring scale. They carry no name or email unless you buy a certificate for that attempt.

Certificates

If you pass a final and buy a certificate, StudyWalks keeps:

  • the name you enter to appear on the certificate,
  • the email address you enter, which Stripe uses for your receipt and StudyWalks uses only to find your certificate if you write and ask for it,
  • the attempt's score, the issue date, the certificate number, and a reference to the payment.

The certificate is public by design. Each one has a verify page at studywalks.com/verify/ followed by its number. Anyone with that number can see the name on the certificate, the course, the score, and the date, so an employer or school can confirm it. The verify page never shows your email address. Certificate numbers are not listed or searchable anywhere on the site.

Your certificate page has two LinkedIn buttons: one adds the certificate to your LinkedIn profile, the other shares its verify page in a post. They are plain links, with no LinkedIn code on the page, so nothing goes to LinkedIn unless you click one. If you do, LinkedIn receives the course name, the certificate number, the month of issue, and the verify link, and what you post there is governed by LinkedIn's own policy.

A pathway badge, such as the AI Foundations Pathway, is matched to the certificates you already hold by the email you used at checkout. The lookup also asks for one of your certificate numbers, so an email address alone reveals nothing, and nothing new is collected for it.

Certificate records are kept for as long as the certificate is valid, so the verify page keeps working.

Payments

Payment is handled by Stripe. You enter your card on Stripe's page, not StudyWalks', and StudyWalks never sees or stores your card number. Stripe receives your card details, your email, and the amount, and handles them under Stripe's privacy policy. StudyWalks receives back only a confirmation that the payment succeeded and a reference to it.

Email

StudyWalks does not send you email. Stripe sends a payment receipt. There is no mailing list, and your address is never sold, rented, or shared for marketing.

Who else receives data

  • Cloudflare hosts the site, the videos, the exam service, and the certificate records. It receives the standard request information any web host receives: IP address, browser type, and the page requested. This is used to serve the site and to block abuse.
  • Stripe processes certificate payments, as described above.
  • Google Fonts serves the typefaces. Loading a font makes a request to Google's servers, which sees your IP address.

Children

StudyWalks is written for college-level study and is not directed to children under 13. No information is knowingly collected from them, and a certificate should not be bought for a child under 13.

Your requests

Outside a certificate there are no personal records to export or delete. If you hold a certificate, you can ask for a copy of what is kept, ask for a correction to the name, or ask for the certificate and its record to be deleted, which also takes its verify page down. Write to hello@studywalks.com from the email address on the certificate, with the certificate number.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected, the change will be described here rather than quietly substituted.

Last updated October 8, 2026: added pathway badges. October 7, 2026: added the LinkedIn buttons on certificate pages. October 1, 2026: added final exams, certificates, and payments.
