Phase One With AI, Five Steps
The idea
The book gives a five-step routine for using AI in phase one while people stay the source of truth.
In practice
Step one: seed the tool with a paragraph about the organization and excerpts from its policies, and ask for the key things with short descriptions. Step two: review the list. Merge duplicates, remove inventions, and add things you know exist, especially compliance records. Step three: ask the tool to group the things into three to six zones and suggest names. Step four: critique that grouping as a draft, and rename the zones in your organization's language. Step five: build the inventory and draw the map yourselves. Only then, if it helps, ask the tool to describe the finished map in words for stakeholders.

The tool works at both ends of the routine, never in the middle, where people decide what is real.
