The Session: Lifecycle and Cards

The idea

The rest of the book's review session covers the thing's lifecycle, a quick check of its cards, and the close.

In practice

Step one, fifteen to twenty minutes on lifecycle: ask whether the states match how the thing moves, which states are never used, which are missing, and which transitions happen in practice but are not listed. Mark likely new cards, such as return the report to the reporter. Step two, ten to fifteen minutes on cards: read two or three key cards, create, one update and one generate, and ask whether each happens the way it is written. Step three, five to ten minutes to close: state what will change in the Pack, list three to five open questions with owners, and promise an updated Pack and summary.

Where people slip

The book's rule for the whole phase: one thing, one session, one updated Pack, then the next thing.
