The idea

A scenario walkthrough tests a model in motion: given a real situation, does it hold up?

In practice

Step one: choose a real path through the work, such as the book's benefits example, where an application becomes a case, a determination is made, a notice is sent, and later an appeal is opened. Step two: at each step, say which thing is touched, and whether its states and fields are enough. Step three: ask the method's prompts. Where would you capture that in this model? What if the applicant calls back and changes their mind here? Which thing shows the truth at this moment? Step four: when something does not fit gracefully, record whether a field, a thing, a state or a card is missing.

Where people slip

The book recommends walkthroughs especially for Gold things, where an awkward fit is often a future audit problem.
