The idea
Every medication and solution on the sterile field is labelled, including syringes, cups and basins.
In practice
The scrub person labels each container with the medication name and strength at the time it is received, before anything else is drawn up.
Where people slip
If an unlabelled container is found on the field, it is not used; it is discarded.
