Captions available
The idea
Some arms must not be used for a blood draw.
In practice
Avoid an arm on the side of a past mastectomy or lumpectomy, an arm with a dialysis fistula or lymphedema, and any arm with an IV line, where fluids can alter the results.
Where people slip
Ask the patient, and check the record, before you choose an arm.
