Medical Assistant Prep / Unit 14 MAS 341 short lesson, about 20 seconds
Color Vision With Ishihara Plates
Captions available
The idea
Color vision can be screened with Ishihara plates, a book of patterns made of colored dots.
In practice
A person with normal color vision sees a number or shape within the dots that a person with certain color vision deficiencies cannot see.
Where people slip
Screening shows that a problem may exist; it does not diagnose its cause.
