The idea
Eye irrigation flushes debris or chemicals from the eye using large amounts of saline.
In practice
The amount and length of the flush depend on the contaminant; some emergency eyewash stations deliver a fifteen-minute flush.
Where people slip
Keep runoff from flowing into the other eye, unless both eyes need flushing.
