The M-CaReM-AI Method: Defining Work for AI / Unit 6 MCM 145 worked example, 60 to 90 seconds
AI Drafts, You Edit
The idea
The method uses AI to assemble a first Pack from pieces the team supplies, with the team as editor-in-chief.
In practice
Step one: gather the thing's name and description, its cards, its known fields, any lifecycle notes and the relevant policy text. Step two: give the tool those pieces and the Pack template, and ask for a draft in clear business language. Step three: tell it not to invent fields, states or relationships it does not see referenced, and to list anything missing as an open question. Step four: edit the draft. Remove invented fields and relationships, clarify vague wording, adjust the lifecycle to match reality, and tighten the links to real policies.
Where people slip
The book calls AI a fast but occasionally careless assistant. A Pack drafted from a vague prompt encodes the tool's guesses as truth.
