Hands and Forearms Both

The idea
The surgical scrub covers the forearms as well as the hands, because gown cuffs and gloves overlap the lower arms.
In practice
Whether by soap or by rub, every surface of the hands and forearms is treated for the full time, and both are dried before gowning.
Where people slip
Missing the wrists or forearms leaves an untreated gap under the gown cuffs.
