Tech in Surgery Prep / Unit 12 TSC 291 short lesson, about 20 seconds
Right Angle Clamps
Captions available
The idea
A right angle clamp has jaws bent at a right angle, so it can reach around and behind vessels and ducts.
In practice
Surgeons use it to dissect around a structure and pass a tie or vessel loop underneath, to tie it off or lift it.
Where people slip
When a right angle is requested, a tie is often needed next, so have one ready.
