Ties and Free Ties

The idea
A tie is a length of suture without a needle, used to tie off a vessel or structure.
In practice
A free tie may be handed to the surgeon directly, or carried on the tip of a clamp, such as a right angle, to pass around a vessel.
Where people slip
When a right angle clamp is requested, a tie usually follows, so have one ready.
