Towel Clamps

Captions available

The idea

Towel clamps are ratcheted clamps used to hold towels and drapes in place around the sterile field.

In practice

Penetrating towel clamps have sharp points; they can also grasp tough tissue that will be removed.

Where people slip

Penetrating clamps are not used to attach cords or tubing to drapes; they puncture the drapes and can damage electrical cables.
