Placing the Limb Electrodes
Captions available
The idea
For a twelve-lead ECG, the four limb electrodes go on the limbs, not the torso.
In practice
They can be placed anywhere on the arms below the armpit fold and anywhere on the legs, away from fatty areas, large muscles and bony points.
Where people slip
Moving limb electrodes onto the torso is acceptable for monitoring, but not for a diagnostic twelve-lead.
