Medical Assistant Prep / Unit 22 MAS 532 short lesson, about 20 seconds
Twelve Views From Ten Electrodes
Captions available
The idea
A twelve-lead ECG records the heart's electrical activity from twelve different angles, giving a complete picture.
In practice
The twelve leads are produced from ten electrodes: four on the limbs and six on the chest.
Where people slip
A lead is a view, not a wire. Ten electrodes produce twelve views.
