Preparation follows the same safety steps as any procedure.
In practice
Verify the order, identify the patient with two identifiers, check allergies, provide privacy, and enter the patient's information into the machine as required.
Where people slip
Note the patient's age, cardiac medications and any chest pain, because the provider will want them with the tracing.
