Airborne Precautions
Captions available
The idea
Airborne precautions are used for germs carried in tiny particles that stay in the air, such as measles.
In practice
Staff wear a fit-tested N ninety-five respirator or a powered air-purifying respirator, and the patient goes in an airborne infection isolation room with the door closed.
Where people slip
Entry is limited, and staff who are not immune should not go in.
