Moving a Patient on Precautions
Captions available
The idea
Patients on transmission-based precautions are moved only for essential purposes, such as a test that cannot be done in the room.
In practice
When they must move, the patient wears barriers that fit the route of spread, such as a mask, and the receiving staff are told about the precautions in advance.
Where people slip
The receiving area cannot protect itself from a risk no one mentioned.
