Checking Names and Quotes
The idea
Names, titles and quotations are where invented detail looks most authoritative, so they get a check of their own.
In practice
Step one: confirm that every named person, organization, document and product exists and is named correctly. Step two: check each title and role against a current source, since generated text often reflects old or typical titles. Step three: compare every quotation word for word against the original, as the DAIR.AI guide's quote-first chain does. Step four: read the passage around each quote and confirm it means what the output says it means in its original context.
Where people slip
A real quote attached to the wrong person, or lifted out of its context, can do more damage than an invented one, because it survives a quick search.
