Classifying an Unfamiliar Protist by Supergroup-Defining Criteria

This video presents the same text shown beside it, spoken and on screen. It adds nothing the text does not say.

State

This procedure classifies an unfamiliar protist into its supergroup by matching its described structural features against each supergroup's defining criterion in turn.

Watch for

Matching one structural feature alone is not sufficient— this procedure works only by ruling supergroups out systematically, since a single trait can appear convergently across more than one group.
