In practice
A plasmodial slime mold moves as one multinucleate mass, then forms spore-producing fruiting bodies resembling fungi under stress.
Where people slip
A slime mold's fungus-like fruiting body is convergent evolution — slime molds classify with amoebae, not with true fungi.
