The M-CaReM-AI Method: Defining Work for AI / Unit 4 MCM 089 worked example, 60 to 90 seconds
Four Interview Questions
The idea
The book offers four interview questions that bring things out of conversations with the people who do the work.
In practice
Step one: ask what people actually touch when they work a case, whether forms, screens, documents or logs. Step two: ask what they are responsible for creating or keeping current. Step three: ask what they would write down on paper if the system went down. Step four: ask which specific records an auditor would ask to see if one arrived tomorrow. After each answer, write down every noun that sounds like a thing, without filtering, and note who said it. The fourth question is the one that found the Policy Version and the Case Snapshot in the book's example, because those records matter only when someone has to prove a decision.
Where people slip
Asked in this order, the questions move from daily work to accountability, and the second half finds the things the first half misses.
