The M-CaReM-AI Method: Defining Work for AI / Unit 2   MCM 040 worked example, 60 to 90 seconds

Teaching the Tool Your Definition

The idea

The method's rule is not to ask a tool what your Case is, but to tell it what your Case is and have it work inside that definition.

In practice

Step one: write the thing's definition, purpose and key fields, even roughly. Step two: give the tool that definition with the request, rather than asking it to describe the thing for you. Step three: give it the method's fixed template for the output, so the result must name the thing, its change and its fields. Step four: tell it to use only the fields given, and to list anything it thinks is missing as a question. Step five: read the result against the definition, and treat the tool as a junior assistant that works with your definitions, never around them.

Where people slip

The order matters: definition first, request second. Ask in the other order and you get the typical organization's Case back, presented as if it were yours.
