The M-CaReM-AI Method: Defining Work for AI / Unit 5 MCM 119 worked example, 60 to 90 seconds
Drafting a Card With AI
The idea
The method drafts cards with AI only after the scaffolding is ready, and treats the result as a first draft. Generative AI at Work, lesson seventy, covers the prompt skeleton.
In practice
Step one: prepare a short definition of the thing, the fields you know, the relevant policy text and the card template. Step two: ask the tool to draft one named card, naming the thing and the change type, listing fields as required or optional, and including only the rules the policy states. Step three: tell it not to invent fields beyond those given, and to list anything it thinks is missing as a question. Step four: review the draft. Delete invented fields, add missing ones, such as the policy version, and change the wording to your organization's terms.
Where people slip
The review is the step that makes the card yours. A card nobody reviewed is the tool's guess in your template.
