The idea
Workers with occupational exposure must be offered hepatitis B vaccination after training and soon after starting the assignment.
In practice
The rule sets a deadline of ten working days from initial assignment, unless the worker has already completed the series.
Where people slip
Hepatitis B can cause long-term liver disease, and vaccination is one of the strongest protections available.
