The idea
A medical assistant works under a provider's direction; the provider orders the care, and you help deliver it.
In practice
When you give an injection, the provider chose that drug, dose and route for that patient; your part is to carry the order out safely.
Where people slip
If an order is unclear or seems wrong, ask before acting. Never guess, and never change an order yourself.
