Policy Can Be Stricter, Never Looser
Captions available
The idea
A practice's policy may be stricter than state or federal rules, but it can never be looser.
In practice
A state may allow assistive personnel to perform a task, and your practice may still forbid it; the practice's rule governs you there.
Where people slip
No employer policy can give you permission that the law withholds. If a request conflicts with the law, the law wins.
