The idea
Positioning gives the provider access for an exam or procedure while keeping the patient safe, comfortable and covered.
In practice
Each position has a name, so that the provider can ask for one in a word and the medical assistant knows exactly what is meant.
Where people slip
Help the patient into position slowly, and lock the table or bed first.
