Lateral and Sims' Positions

The idea
In the lateral position the patient lies on one side with the top leg bent over the bottom leg.
In practice
The Sims' position is halfway between lying on the back and lying face down, with the legs flexed, a pillow under the top leg, and the arms beside the body.
Where people slip
Keep the arms out from under the body to avoid pressure and discomfort.
