Replacement Behaviors and Extinction

The idea
Behavior plans define the replacement behavior positively, by the dead person's rule: if a dead person could do it, it is not a behavior; then they withdraw the reinforcer for misbehavior.
In practice
"Stay quiet" fails the rule; "raise your hand and wait" passes it.
Where people slip
Extinction of attention works only if no escape rewards the behavior.
