Osmosis

This video presents the same text shown beside it, spoken and on screen. It adds nothing the text does not say.

State

Osmosis is the diffusion of water across a selectively permeable membrane, toward the side with lower water concentration relative to dissolved solute.

Show

When a membrane blocks solute but separates two different solute concentrations, water crosses toward the side with more solute.

Watch for

Osmosis moves water specifically; the solute driving that movement never crosses the membrane.
