Turgor Pressure and Plasmolysis
This video presents the same text shown beside it, spoken and on screen. It adds nothing the text does not say.
State
Turgor pressure is cytoplasm pushing against a cell wall; plasmolysis is the membrane pulling away from that wall as water is lost.
Show
A watered plant cell presses firmly against its wall, holding the plant upright; a wilted one's membrane has pulled inward.
Watch for
A walled cell cannot lyse like an unwalled one — the wall limits the membrane's expansion.
