The idea
With Barbarossa in summer nineteen forty-one four Einsatzgruppen followed the army, marching Jews, Romani and the disabled to pits and shooting them. About a million died, the anchor says, with Wehrmacht units, Order Police battalions and local "Hiwis" helping. The method was too slow and too public.
