The idea
About half of Germany's Jews escaped before the war. Madagascar was one SS scheme. Poland's three million Jews, ten percent of its people, had nowhere to run. From late nineteen thirty-nine they were fenced into ghettos, Warsaw's over four hundred thousand, on starvation rations; half a million died there.
