Western Civilization II / Unit 17   WC2 1627 short lesson, about 20 seconds

Nuremberg, Hilberg, Eichmann, Denial, Memory

Captions available

The idea

Eisenhower ordered the camps documented. Nuremberg tried twenty-two men for crimes against humanity. Then decades of silence, until Hilberg's study of nineteen sixty-one and Eichmann's capture and trial in Jerusalem made the Holocaust world-known. Denial from the seventies is false; museums and curricula answered it.

In practice

The desktop murderer, Eichmann and the trains.

Where people slip

Denial is described as the anchor describes it: false.
