The idea
Only Britain was left. From July to September the Luftwaffe tried to destroy the RAF ahead of a Channel invasion. Radar gave warning, and British factories outbuilt German ones. By late September the invasion was abandoned; the Luftwaffe had lost forty percent of its planes.
