The idea
Lend-Lease in March nineteen forty-one gave Britain support short of war. The Tripartite Pact of September nineteen forty backfired: after Pearl Harbor on the seventh of December forty-one Hitler declared war. Mussolini's failures in Greece and Egypt dragged Germany into the Balkans and Africa.
