The idea

Endoscopy is the examination of internal structures with an endoscope, a scope passed into the body through a natural opening or small incision.

Examples include looking into the airways with a bronchoscope and into the bladder with a cystoscope, often with a saline flow to create space.

Endoscopes must be reprocessed exactly as their manufacturers direct before the next patient.
