Holes and Tears in Drapes

The idea
A hole or tear in a sterile drape breaks the barrier, and the area around it is considered contaminated.
In practice
The area within about an inch of a hole, tear or wet spot is treated as contaminated, and the drape is covered or replaced as policy directs.
Where people slip
Check drapes as they open; a tear found early is easier to fix.
