The idea
Surgical drapes and gowns are either disposable non-woven products or reusable woven ones, and both are acceptable.
In practice
The WHO surgical infection guideline found no difference in infection between sterile disposable non-woven and sterile reusable woven drapes and gowns.
Where people slip
Whatever the material, a drape must be sterile and intact to do its job.
