Powered Instruments

The idea
Powered instruments, such as bone saws and drills, use electric or battery power to cut, drill and shape bone.
In practice
Saws may be used freehand or with a cutting guide; drills and reamers prepare bone for implants in orthopedic surgery.
Where people slip
Powered instruments are inspected before use and run only as their manufacturers direct, like any other equipment.
