Tech in Surgery Prep / Unit 12 TSC 284 short lesson, about 20 seconds
Fine Scissors
Captions available
The idea
Fine scissors are made for delicate work, and two common examples are iris scissors and Potts scissors.
In practice
Iris scissors have very sharp fine tips for fine dissection and fine suture; Potts scissors have angled blades for opening and extending incisions in blood vessels.
Where people slip
Fine scissors have fragile tips, so they are protected on the field and in processing.
