The idea
Alcohol-based skin preparation solutions are flammable until they have fully dried and their vapors have dispersed.
In practice
Use the correct amount, avoid pooling, especially under the patient, remove soaked materials, and wait the label's drying time before draping.
Where people slip
Drying takes longer on hairy skin and in skin folds, so the label time is a minimum, not a target.
