Using an Extinguisher

The idea
Most portable fire extinguishers are used with the PASS technique: pull, aim, squeeze, sweep.
In practice
Pull the pin, aim low at the base of the fire, squeeze the handle, and sweep side to side until it appears out, then back away and watch.
Where people slip
If you have any doubt about your ability to fight a fire, or the extinguisher runs out, evacuate at once.
