The idea
Each side of the fire triangle is controlled by a different member of the team, so preventing fire depends on communication.
In practice
The anesthesia provider controls oxygen and nitrous oxide; the surgeon controls ignition sources; the surgeon and nurses control fuels, such as prep and drapes.
