The idea
Sterile supplies are stored where they stay clean and dry, in a limited-access area with controlled temperature and humidity.
In practice
The guideline gives clearances: about eight to ten inches above the floor, about five inches below the ceiling, and eighteen inches from sprinkler heads.
Where people slip
Never store sterile supplies under sinks or anywhere they could get wet.
