Reflexes

The idea
Newborns arrive with survival reflexes, such as breathing, rooting and sucking, and primitive reflexes, such as the Babinski, stepping, grasping and Moro reflexes.
In practice
A newborn turns toward a touch on the cheek and begins to suck: rooting.
Where people slip
Survival reflexes stay; primitive reflexes fade as voluntary movement takes over.
